ANKENEY, IOWA—The Dallas Christian College men's soccer team (1-0) opened the season with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Faith Baptist Bible College (0-1) on Thursday night behind a stellar 2 goal performance from
Kevin Jacinto.
The Crusaders dominated the pace of play with 7 shots in the first half. In the 35
th minute the Crusaders connected on a set piece off a corner kick.
Kevin Jacinto blasted a header into the back of the net for his first career goal off a stellar pass by
David Rivas. Faith Baptist answered 3 minutes later with an equalizing goal in the 38
th minute to tie the game at 1 heading into halftime.
In the second half the Crusaders tightened up their pressure and created opportunities on goal. DCC had 19 shots (7 on goal), 5 saves by goal-keeper
Danilo Dalisay. The Crusaders drew a foul in the box and took advantage of a penalty kick with
Kevin Jacinto scoring his second goal of the game, which ended up being the game-winning goal.
The Crusaders start the season off with an impressive win on the road. The Crusaders will look to leave Iowa with 2 wins as they face-off with Providence University tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.
