The Dallas Christian College Baseball team took the four game series on Senior Day weekend against Ecclesia College on Thursday and Friday afternoon. DCC took game one with a 12-3 victory, took game 2 in a wild 14 inning affair with a 12-11 victory, and took game 3 in a 10 inning affair with a 4-3 victory, and lost the final game of the series 9-6.
Game 1: DCC controlled this game from the start with a dominant performance on the mound by
Zachary Andrews. Andrews went 4.1 innings allowing 5 hits, 2 earned runs, and 4 strikeouts in 15 batters faced.
Stefon Reyes was phenomenal at the plate and went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's 2 walks, and 3 runs scored.Â
Game 2: This game lasted almost 5 hours. It took 14 innings to decide the winner. In extra innings, each team matched each other until
Carlos Torres scored on a walk-off double by
Stefon Reyes. Reyes had an unbelievable game at the plate going 4 for 4 with 2 RBI's, 3 runs scored, and 4 walks.
Derek Lewis went 3 for 8 with 4 RBI's and a 3 run homerun.
Tyland Lackey picked up the win going 2 innings and allowing no runs.
Game 3: This game also needed extra innings to decide a winner. Both teams were not able to get a run across the plate in extra innings until
Zachary Andrews was hit by a pitch to bring in the game winning run and secure the third win of the weekend and a series victory for the Crusaders.
Baylor Patton picked up the win on the mound going 3.2 innings and recording 2 strikeouts in 12 batters faced to finish the game.
Game 4: In the fourth and final game of the series the Crusaders dropped the last game by a score of 9-6. DCC battled back to tie the game at 6 after going down 5-0 in the first inning. DCC battled all weekend long.
The Crusaders played 38 innings in four games on the weekend. The Crusaders will be on the road at Randall University next weekend.
