Game Recap: Softball |

SB: Lady Crusaders sweep DH against Xavier University

DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Softball team (11-16) extended its winning streak to 4 games with a 2 game sweep of Xavier University on Friday afternoon. The Crusaders won the first game 10-9 and won the second game 11-7. 

Game 1: Xavier University jumped out to an 9-2 lead in the first six innings of the game. The Lady Crusaders fought hard in the last inning and were able to get the bats going. It started with an RBI single by Felicitas Figueroa, followed up by a rocket grand slam by Kaylee Brent to cut the deficit to 9-7. Allyse Leija walked it up with a 2 RBI double to win the game. That is the team's second walk-off win on the season. Allyse Leija went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's. Autumn Minyard picked up the win going 3 innings and allowing 3 runs. She also recorded 4 strikeouts. 

Game 2: The Lady Crusaders carried over its offensive firepower into the second game of the day amassing 7 runs in the first 3 innings of the game. XULA made a late push to make things close, but DCC was able to hold off a late surge and hold onto the 11-7 victory. Felicitas Figueroa went 3 for 3 with 2 RBI's and a home-run. Ciara Cruz went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's and a home-run. Nizhoni Yellow picked up the win on the mound for the Lady Crusaders. She went 5 innings allowing 8 hits, 3 runs, in 26 batters faced. DCC will be back in action on Saturday afternoon against Crowley's RIdge at home.
