Dallas, Texas– The DCC Baseball team earned another split of a doubleheader on Friday, February 9 at home in a tri-team doubleheader.
The Crusaders (1-4) were shut out 7-0 by the Central Baptist College Mustangs (2-1) in the first game of the twin billing of the day.
DCC (2-4) rebounded with a gem of a win in game 2 vs. the Texas College Steers (0-2) by a score of 6-0. The Crusaders jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st and then cruised to a 6-0 win.
Zachary Andrews pitched a 5 hit complete game shutout on 100 pitches to pick up his first win of the season.
In the bottom of the first inning, Stefon Reyes tripled to left center for the RBI, scoring Kyle Brealond for the first and only run needed for the win.
Reyes Scored a run and led the way with 2 RBI for the game, while Haden Sedatole, Stephen Ware-Miller, and Jaidon Erivez each scored a run.
Riekkhen Bostick also led off the bottom of the 4th inning with a HR to push the score to 3-0 at the time.
