FARMER'S BRANCH, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Men's Basketball team (0-2) lost its home opener on Saturday afternoon in a wire-to-wire close game against UNT-Dallas (0-1) by a score of 80-75.
The first half started off with a blazing pace as both teams went back and forth with each other. After 20 minutes of play the Crusaders were only down 40-34.
In the second half DCC put pressure on UNTD outscoring them 41-40. The Crusaders were down 3 points with 24 seconds left to play in the game after
Grayson Bell nailed a three-pointer late. The Trailblazers preceded to make both free-throws to seal the game.
The Crusaders played hard and almost came out on top. For the game the Crusaders shot 25-61 (41%) from the field, 9-28 (32%) from the three-point line, and 16-28 (57.1%) from the free-throw line.
DCC had 3 second chance points, 28 points in the paint, and 17 points off turnovers.
Ny'gel Boozer exploded for a game-high 39 points on 7-13 from the three-point line, 12-22 from the field, and 8-10 shooting from the free-throw line.
Carlas Canady gave the Crusaders a lift off the bench with 12 points. The Crusaders will look to bounce back on Monday evening against North American University.
