DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College women's basketball team defeated College of Biblical Studies 74-62 at home on Wednesday evening in Southwest Regional play. The Lady Crusaders were led by new addition
Lara Lordes who had 21 points on the night.
The game was very even in the first half as neither team was able to create separation from each other with the game being tied at 34 at halftime. The Lady Crusaders were able to create separation in the second half and grasp a very important conference win at home.
Lara Lordes led the team with 21 points and 6 rebounds on 7-13 shooting from the field.
T'Keitha Valentine had 17 points and 6 rebounds on 7-17 shooting from the field.
Jaden Mitchell had 12 points and 6 rebounds on 3-9 shooting from the field and 6-6 from the free-throw line.
Naiya Brown had 10 points on 5-11 shooting from the field.
DCC shot 28-72 (39%) from the field, 7-24Â (29%) from the three-point line, and 11-20 (55%) from the free-throw line. DCC scored 40 points in the paint, 22 points off turnovers, 29 bench points, and 19 second chance points. The Lady Crusaders will be back at home on Tuesday, Jan. 16 hosting Arlington Baptist University at 6 p.m.
