DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Women's Volleyball team opened up the season on Monday night against Brookhaven College. The Lady Crusaders lost in three sets: 25-16, 25-20, 25-13.
Brookhaven College took the first set by a score of 25-16. DCC fought hard in the first set and picked up three points in a row to tie the set up at 12 as both teams went back and forth. In the second set DCC almost battled all the way back but was not able to overcome the deficit they faced. Brookhaven closed out the match in the third set. DCC fought hard all night long and battled through adversity.
DCC tallied 33 points, 24 kills, 2 Aces, 7 blocks, 22 assists, and 40 digs.
Zaybrie Huerta tallied 6 Kills,
Bailey Whitten had 5 Kills, and
Makenna Rambo had 5 kills.
Makenna Rambo had 4 blocks,
Alexis Garner had 3 blocks, and
Alexis Smith had 1 block.
Hannah Gallegos had 15 assists,
Olivia Withers had 9 digs,
Alyssa Carreras had 6 digs, and
Taylor Larsen had 6 digs. The Lady Crusaders will compete in a tri-match on Saturday at Eastfield College at 12 and 2 p.m.
