BB: Crusaders clinch series win against Patriots on Senior Day

DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Baseball team hosted its final home games of the year on Saturday afternoon at Glenda and Denny Dixon Field. DCC honored its 7 seniors who played in their final home games. The 7 seniors honored were Noel Lopez, Jaylen Camarillo, Brandon Andrews, Marcos Franjul, Josh Freeman, Colby Bradshaw, and Joel Stone. The Crusaders sent their seniors off in style winning both games by scores of 7-1.

Game 1: After loading the bases in the first inning, Derek Lewis stormed back with three straight strikeouts to get out of the game without a run scored and that set the tone for the rest of the game. Lewis went 7 innings, allowing 5 hits, 1 earned run, and recorded 11 strikeouts in 31 batters faced. Joel Stone hit an RBI double, and Jaidon Erivez hit an RBI single to give the Crusaders a 3-1 lead. They built on that lead with 4 more runs to take control of the game. Jaidon Erivez went 3 for 4 with 1 RBI, Cooper Ness went 1 for 3 with a homerun blast. Joel Stone continued his stellar series at the plate with 2 hits and 3 RBI's. 

Game 2: DCC continued its stellar play in the final game of the series with another solid 7-1 victory led by a phenomenal performance on the mound by Zachary Andrews. Andrews went 7 innings allowing 7 hits, 1 run, and recorded 3 strikeouts. Cooper Ness went 2 for 4 with a homerun blast and 2 RBI's. Brandon Andrews went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI. The Crusaders have now won 12 out of their last 13 games and are playing phenomenal aat the right time. The next time they will take the field is May 8th at the regional tournament in Missouri with game times to be determined.
