BB: Seven homeruns power Crusaders to two wins against Tigers to open up conference play

HOT SPRINGS, ARKANSAS-- The Dallas Christian College Baseball team (7-13, 2-0) opened up conference play against Champion Christian College on Saturday afternoon. The Crusaders toppled the Tigers 15-1 in the first game of the day and continued its offensive prowess in the second game with a 10-0 victory. Bryce Garza and Tobin Jones pitched complete games and the Crusaders hit 7 home-runs in an impressive showing on the road.

Game 1: The Crusaders flexed its muscle in the first game with 17 hits, 3 doubles, 2 triples, 4 home-runs, and 15 runs scored. DCC also had an impressive pitching performance on the mound from Bryce Garza. Garza went 7 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 earned run, and recorded six strikeouts in 25 batters faced. Brandon Andrews had a stellar day at the plate with 3 hits, a home-run, a walk, and 3 RBI's. Stefon Reyes went 4 for 4 with a double, a homerun, 1 RBI, and 5 runs scored. Manny Valenzuela went 2 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI's. Derek Lewis went 2 for 3 with a home-run and 2 RBI's. Marcos Franjul also had an impressive day at the plate with 3 hits, including a homerun blast and 3 RBI's. 

Game 2: The Crusaders were led by a masterful performance on the mound from Tobin Jones in game 2. Jones allowed 4 hits, and struck out 4 batters in 7 innings. Brandon Andrews went 4 for 5 with 4 RBI's, a double, and a homerun. Cooper Ness went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's and a home-run blast. The Crusaders will be back at the ballpark on the road tomorrow looking to sweep the series at 11 and 1:30 p.m.
