DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College Softball team hosted Kansas Christian College in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at john Paul II. KCC won the first game by a score of 8-6 and held on to a 7-5 victory in game 2.
Game 1: KCC went up 3-0 in the second inning scoring on two hard hit singles and an error. The Lady Crusaders answered back in the bottom half of the inning with
Jacqueline Gutierrez scoring on a wild throw. In the bottom half of the third inning,
Italia Ortiz and
Kaylee Castillo scored on a batted ball to cut the deficit to one run. Kansas Christian was able to hold-off a ferocious comeback attempt by the Lady Crusaders to capture an 8-6 victory.Â
Hanna Roye went 2-4 at the plate with 2 singles.
Lacey Bainbridge went 2 for 3 with 2 singles, 2 RBI's, and 1 walk.
Italia Ortiz went 2 for 4 with a double, a triple, and 1 RBI.Â
Game 2: KCC held off a comeback attempt in the last inning by the Lady Crusaders to hold onto a 7-5 victory.
Summer Hasfurter was solid on the mound and did not give uo a run in the first three innings. The KCC bats woke up and ended up scoring 7 runs on 13 hits.
Lacey Bainbridge had a solid game with a double, a single and 2 RBI's.
Mattee Fry had 2 hits and 3 RBI's in the game. The Lady Crusaders will host SAGU in a DH on Monday, Feb. 27 at 1 and 3 p.m.
