DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College women's basketball team defeated Ecclesia College at home on Friday afternoon by a score of 59-52 to extend the win streak to three games.

The Lady Crusaders continued their stellar defensive play that has been translating to wins by forcing the Royals to 21 turnovers and under 40% shooting from the field. DCC shot 21-59 (35%) from the field, 4-21 (19%) from the three-point line, and 13-19 (68%) from the free-throw line. DCC scored 34 points in the paint, 6 second chance points, 22 points off turnovers, and scored 7 bench points.

The Lady Crusaders are playing tenacious defense om this winning streak and turning tough defense into easy offense. Rakia Lee had 16 points and 5 rebounds on 7-16 shooting from the field. Amber Covington notched her sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds. She also tacked on 4 assists. Yvonne Fuerte scored 10 points and had 6 rebounds on 5-8 shooting from the field.

The Lady Crusaders are heating up at the right time, with one regular season game remaining, and the regional tournament coming up in two weeks. The Lady Crusaders will close out the regular season at home against Arlington Baptist on Friday, Feb. 17 which is Senior Night.
