DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College women's basketball team etched its second straight win in a row with a 68-57 victory over Southwestern Adventist on Monday night at home in the final game before Christmas break.
The Lady Crusaders jumped out to a 19-8 lead after 10 minutes of play and started the game on a 12-2 run. DCC continued its solid play in the second quarter by maintaining a 32-24 lead heading into halftime. the Lady Knights battled back in the third quarter by cutting the deficit to 4 points with just one quarter of regulation left to play. DCC recaptured its offensive prowess in the fourth quarter outscoring SWAU 21-14 in the final 10 minute of play to capture its second straight win with a 68-57 victory.
The Lady Crusaders were led by a stellar performance from T'keitha Valentine. Valentine had a double-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists on 8-14 shooting from the field.
Mckayla Washington put together a solid night with 18 points on 8-15 shooting from the field. DCC shot 29-66 (44%) from the field, 6-21 (28%) from the three-point line, and shot 4-6 (67%) from the free-throw line.
DCC recorded 8 second chance points, 42 points in the paint, and 15 bench points. DCC recorded 35 rebounds, 16 assists, and 23 turnovers. The Lady Crusaders will take a two week break before its next game on January 8th against Randall at home at 5 p.m.
