HOT SPRINGS, AR-- The Dallas Christian College men's basketball team competed in a close game on the road against Champion Christian College. The Tigers made two free-throws with under 20 seconds remaining to take a 91-90 lead. The Crusaders were not able to pull out the victory, but competed hard and pushed the Tigers all the way to the end.
The Crusaders shot 34-71 (47.9%) from the field, 8-20 (40%) from the three-point line, and 14-17 (82.4%) from the free-throw line. DCC scored 42 points in the paint, 37 points off turnovers, and 17 second chance points.
Jalen Perez led the charge with 23 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds on 7-14 shooting from the field.
Jairus Allen put together a solid performance with 16 points, 2 assists, and 6 rebounds.
Joseph Allen scored 15 points, 1 assists, and 2 rebounds on 6-10 shooting from the field. TJ Hobson scored 12 points and had 7 rebounds on 5-9 shooting from the field.
Taro Ford was the fifth player in double digits with 10 points. This was the first game this season where the Crusaders had 5 players in double-digits scoring.
DCC will be back on the road this Friday against Spurgeon College at 7 p.m.
