DALLAS, TX-- The Dallas Christian College men's basketball team suffered a 75-72 loss against Texas College on Thursday night at home. The Crusaders fought hard, but were not able to overcome the early deficit they faced.
In the first half, the game was even for the first ten minutes as Texas College held a 20-17 lead. The Steers ended the first half outscoring the Crusaders 16-9 to take a 36-26 lead into the first half. In the first half, DCC shot 9-32 (28%) from the field and 3-8 (37%) from the three-point line, and 5-7 (71%) from the free-throw line.Â
In the second half, DCC outscored Texas College 46-39, but was not able to rally from the double-digit deficit that they once faced. Although, the Crusaders rallied in the second half with key defensive stops, clutch shots, and tremendous effort, Texas College held on to win 75-72.
In the second half, DCC shot 16-30 (53%) from the field, 2-5 (40%) from the three-point line, and 12-14 (85%) from the FT line. For the game the Crusaders shot 25-62 (40%) from the field, 5-13 (38%) from the 3 pt. line, and 17-21 (81%) from the FT line.Â
Joseph Allen had 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists on 11-18 shooting from the field and 2-3 from the 3 pt. line. Tilly Hobson put together a solid performance with 13 points and 7 rebounds on 5-7 shooting from the field. The Crusaders will face-off against USAO on Saturday afternoon at 5 p.m.
