MSOC: Crusaders snag first win of the season, fall to Central Christian College on Saturday

Box Score 1 MANHATTAN, KS-- The Dallas Christian College men's soccer team won its first game of the season on Friday afternoon against Manhattan Christian College. The Crusaders used a flurry of goals to win the game 3-1. The Crusaders also dropped their second game of the weekend 5-0 against Central Christian College.

Ivan Najar scored his fourth goal of the season in the 9th minute to give DCC an early 1-0 lead. Adan Hernandez continued the momentum for the Crusaders with a goal assisted by Brandon Montolla in the 30th minute to make the score 2-0. MCC blasted a goal into the back of the net in the 35th minute to cut the deficit to one goal.

DCC stayed the course in the second half by tacking on an insurance goal by Adan Hernandez in the 68th minute to make the score 3-1. The Crusaders back line was solid in the second half and did not allow a goal for the rest of the game. Adan Hernandez scored 2 goals, Ivan Najar scored 1 goal, DCC took 13 shots on goal, recorded 3 saves, and took 4 corner kicks. 

Against Central College the Crusaders fell 5-0. CCCK scored 2 goals in the first half and 3 goals in the second half. DCC took 9 shots, recorded 4 saves, and attempted 2 corner kicks. The Crusaders will host Bacone College on Friday at 2 p.m.
