DALLAS, Texas – The Dallas Christian College women's soccer team finished in a 0-0 draw to Randall University on Saturday afternoon. DCC (0-3-2) finished with its second tie of the campaign, playing Hesston College to a 1-1 final a few weeks ago. The Crusaders held a 25-16 advantage on shots, including 10-4 in time beyond regulation.
Elizabeth Rios posted a game-high eight shots and had seven shots on goal to lead the Crusaders. Alexi Velazquez had five shots, while
Andrea Hernandez and
Jadyn Renteria each chipped in three. As a team, the Crusaders had 14 shots on goal.
Randall's goalkeeper Chloe Bailey was a force for 110 minutes, grabbing 14 saves. Her biggest came late in the second overtime. An initial shot was stopped but popped out. DCC could not get the follow-through fast enough as the 2020 Southwestern Regional Championship team prevented the golden goal by clearing the ball out of the box.
Arabella Williams earned her first collegiate shutout with seven sevens in 110 minutes of a clean sheet.
Both teams had five corner kicks.
Dallas Christian is at Southwestern Adventist on Tuesday for an 8 p.m. kickoff. The Southwest Regional stretch concludes on the final day of the month back home versus Arlington Baptist University at 5 p.m.
