Box Score JOPLIN, Mo. – The Dallas Christian College volleyball team grabbed its fifth straight win to extend a season-long streak, as it dispatched Ozark Christian College in a straight set sweep on Thursday. After taking the first two sets 25-14 and 25-18, the host school claimed an early lead and would battle to the end by dropping just three points in a 25-22 final.
Still, the Crusaders moved to 17-10 and have swept four matches in their recent postseason run.
Leading the way for the Crusaders was
Elizabeth Morrow with eight kills, who hit .412 thanks to one error in 17 attacks.
Christen Downey followed with six kills and added a block.
Kelly Graves led the setters with 10 assists, while
Hannah Gallegos chipped in seven assists and was third on the team with four kills. She also ranked second on the team with 11 digs to break double-digits, while
Caitlyn Yablon paced the team with 17.
Lauren Baker, Yablon, and Downey learned they received ACCA All-American Honors.
Dallas Christian prevailed in both games in Pool A and claimed all six sets. The Crusaders will be the number 1 seed and play the number 2 seed out of Pool B, which is Champion Christian College. That match is slated for 12 p.m. on Friday. Should DCC prevail, it would play the winner of the No. 1 Pool B and No. 2 Pool A team at 5 p.m.
