DALLAS, Texas – The Dallas Christian College women's soccer team completed a pair of matches this week over three days. DCC played on the road at Paul Quinn College on Thursday and fell 2-0. On Saturday, the Crusaders were blanked by the same final, as two second half goals downed them to Jarvis Christian College. Both opponents were members of the NAIA.
In the match at Paul Quinn, the Tigers notched a goal in each half and tallied 22 shots and 14 shots on goal. Daisy Robiedo had a through ball she finished from Nancy Rodriguez. After scoring in the 17
th minute, DCC limited the offense until the 72
nd minute when Lizeth Pita finished a cross from Gianna Faress.
The Crusaders posted three-of-five shots on target with
Abby Day making her season debut with two.
Alexis Velazquez also had two. The duo had a shot on goal, whil
Andrea Hernandez landed her lone attempt on frame. Abrabella Williams made eight saves in 90 minutes.
In Saturday's home matchup, the Bulldogs held DCC to four shots. Velazquez placed the lone one on goal. Elizabeth Rios had a multi-shot game with two off the bench. Williams did well in 90 minutes, making eight saves and working hard to keep the score knotted through halftime. It was Hariklia Sotelo that broke through with a goal in the 60
th minute. A second goal happened about 13 minutes later, as Etni Fernandez got her shot saved but the ball rebounded to an open Kassidi Arellano to put the second netter away on the lower left side.
Dallas Christian enjoys a week off before returning to the pitch again at home. It will be at home against the first regional opponent of the slate in Randall University. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m. prior to the men's match, who also will battle Randall.
